Haway Man. This was a big thing for us. Roeder and the fans deserved it. And so did the players. We had so many big players out for this game and infact many games throughout the season. Thankfully Chelsea played a weak side in their final game of the season. Having already clinched the title with a 3-0 over Man Utd.
Im very impressed by the players though. Without the likes of Dyer, Parker, Shearer, Owen, Emre, and Bowyer for many big important games... it was always going to be difficult.
But we came through good. Hail Roeder indeed. But also Hail the players and of course. Hail the fans who continue to support the Toon Army with every last breath they have to give.

Good skills ! Good luck in the Intertoto and see you in the UEFA !!!
Hey, pity the Tottenham game wasn't a cricket match eh ? Otherwise they might have clinched 4th spot by 11 runs !!!

The beauty of this result is that Chelsea field is Mourinho looked at the Newcastle squad and picked a team he thought would get a comfortable win. The team were NOT a weakened team because Jose had fielded a team that he really thought would do the business.
Whereas Toon had no choice but to field a weaker team due to so many of their first team big names being out injured. The Chelsea squad still had players of a higher value than Newcastle. Jose had hardly gambled - why would he? There was no way he wanted to lose 2 on the bounce .. and at the end of the season too. He knew that if Chelsea lost, then the result would give everybody hope against them next season. Chelsea would be faced by teams with far more belief and resolve .. and GRIT!
And Toon got the win, they showed their grit! So what this result is, is a big **** you to Jose because he undevalued the opposition. Grit won the day.
Afford me this fantasy football moment: I have never been a big Shearer fan but I would have loved it ([c] Keegan) if he was fit to play on the last game of his final season. And I reckon he would have ended it on a hat trick (header, volley and a penalty)
Kai - I applaud your team mate. Whether they cost 20 times what Pompey cost or 80 times. They have done well. They look like a corporation coming in and devastating the opposition. It has been stunning and ruthless - clinical even. But I think next season Chelsea will finally get some real competition. Man United are closing in and will be inspired by the drop in Chelsea's dominance of the games towards the end of the season. Liverpool showed their class against my team on sunday .. after hearing Man U were 3-0 up against Charlton they put us in our place firmly by beating us 1-3 at home. Bottom line is Chelsea are going to get roughed up and tested proper next season

lol!! I actually think they will push for a fine for the hotel. I also think they had the advantage - Ham were hardly likely to go in hard in case they got a spurs deposit all over them

I agree Porty. Grit did win the day. Next season too... should be more difficult for Chelski. Not only are Man Utd closer. As are Liverpool. BUT...
Arsenal... this is a young team who are gelling so so well together. After a couple of seasons together these guys are going to start looking as strong as the Man Utd team of 96 - 00. Should be such a close race.
And with alot of other teams getting very strong just behind that magic 4... it could be a GREAT season for the fans. Newcastle, Blackburn, Spurs, all could be strong next season if they have a fully fit squad.

i must say im baffled about that reaction Geordie. The guy pulled us out of a relegation scrap and plumped us 7th at the end of the season. He understands the people and what it means to them. He also has a more light hearted side which works well for all involved with this club. I think he'll do a good job. Saddens me to yet again see grumpy old men accepting defeat without a single ball of the coming season being kicked.
shame on you chaps. shame on you. and Kai... you are my bro mate. I got love for ya. But stop patronising me lol. It's starting to **** me off

As a lifelong Toon fan and season ticket holder, I got your back bro!!! Glenn seems to have united the dressing room, tightened the defence and got us playing decent football. He also understands the passion of the area having been associated with the club for over 20 years. I say see who comes in/goes out over the summer and give the guy a break. You've got to remember that our form under Glenn stretched over a season would have put us in third place!! I'm certainly more upbeat now than at this point last year

Thats the spirit. Ive been a Toon man since as long as i can remember really. Was born in Hexham and after a couple movies grew up here since the age of 9. im 20 now and still stick with the Toon army.
Everyone round here (pretty much) supports Newcastle. Its the local club. My dad was born in Byker so the Geordie blood pumps through my veins.
We've seen some pretty bad times on Tyneside as far as NUFC goes. But we've also seen some good times. The only thing we havent seen is silverware. So many promising sides. Squandered...
Roeder does seem to be the right man for the job in my eyes. And im pleased you are with me on that. Without loyal positive support... it's kinda pointless even trying. Without the positivity. You just accept defeat without anything having started... and THAT just plain sucks in my book... life sure does seem to make people negative as they get older lol... its no excuse though.
be positive. it might just make each passing day feel all that much better. Simply by putting on a smile and being neat now and then :P...
