Do you think baseballs all star game is getting worse as time goes by? I mean, in 8 years the American League has won 7 times (including last years Roger Clemons bombshell, and 2003's Hank Blalock homer off, practically a legend, Eric Gagne) So i ask a few questions: I there a point in an all star game anymore? Now we go to the picks. Surely all the NL players EXCEPT Roy Oswalt deserved ta make that team. I forget who the other reserves were, but i remember voting for another whose performance was better. In the AL, there is no way Paul Konerko deserved that spot. He can hit homers, but if ya got a .230 average, what good are ya? And the Sox announcers who annoy the hell outta me, were sayin the bullpen shoulda got a nod, and Jermaine Dye couldve made the team. Why dont we just play the Chicago White Sox vs the National League? And putting Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen in there is absolutely a disgrace to the NL. Edmonds hitting .270, and Rolen who missed 3/4 of what has been the season. dont deserve it. I see another loss for the NL. Except i was pleased to see Derrek Lee get the start over Albert Pujols. I like both players, but Lee is goin for Triple Crown, which last happened in i think 1967. Now, Morgan Ensberg should have started at third, and Aramis Ramirez, who did make the team, deserved backup, which he got. The outfield was pretty well chosen, cept if Edmonds was to make the team, Andrew Jones should have started. And Scott Podsednik is also a disgrace. That is the spot for a true all star, like Carl Crawford or Torii Hunter. So, should voting be left to professionals instead of fans. Fans are only voting for people they wanna see in the game, not who deserves it. And the last one, pick a new location! only detroit fans really wanna see the game in Comerica Park. I know many will disagree with me, but put the game in the stadium of the team who won last years world series. Ditch the stupid home field advantage thing and do that. Who agrees with me on this topic? i feel very strongly about the all star game ever since 2002's 'tie'
