Re: NBA 2004

Freaking Mavericks still have no defense and will get crushed in the second round.

And, Philly needs to get some value by that cancer Iverson. I can't believe he didn't play on Sunday because he didn't start - that whiney little shit.

Re: NBA 2004

The Pistons sure do have some defense 5 games in a row (and still counting I think) keeping their opponets under 70 points in the shot clock era that is unbelieveable!

Re: NBA 2004

Enough about the Piston and Mavs, lets talk about HUBIE BALL.

Memphis headed to their first ever post season already with 17 wins more then they last year with 15 odd games to go. They are also the only team in the West to have a .500 or higher recorded against ALL of the current playoff teams (SA, LA, Dallas, Sac, Houston, Denver, Minny).

Hubie ball yeah!

Sac lost badly to the Nets yesterday.. no matter how many problems Dallas are having on the defensive end, there is no way Nelson could be as pissed of Adelman was yesterday.

And the Pistons.. after acquiring 'Sheed, they now have the depth, and personel to make a serious run in the Eastern Conf finals, if they can make it that far.

Any other hoops fans in tha house?

Re: NBA 2004

Hubie is the man. He was my favorite analyst for years, and now he's doin a great coaching job. If Kobe goes too the Grizzlies then watch out NBA cause they'd have a very good young team.

As for Iverson, I dont even care anymore. After all these years of him, I just dont care anymore. He used too be my favorite Philly athlete but now he's behind Mcnabb, Roenick and Thome as my favs. Those guys show up everyday and dont complain about shit. All Iverson does is bitch and moan and not show up for games. Before it was just "practice" Well now it's just "games" he's not showing up for. I'm just gettin annoyed thinking about this shit. The guy is killing his value on the market, and is gonna make it very hard for us too trade his ass. I'll miss him, but not as much as I missed Barkley when he went too Phoenix.

Re: NBA 2004

No team in the east could beat any of the top teams in the west in a 7 game series. The east hasn't had a formidable championship team since the Bull's streak.

BTW- I'm a huge Spurs fan but they are really gonna have to step it up. They are still good but nowhere near the team they were last season.

All that may be true, but I believe the East will give the West a run this year. Too me there are no elite teams out west this year, so Detroit and Indiana I believe have the best shot at coming away with a championship.

No elite teams in the West??? What the hell are you talking about?

Lakers?
Kings?
Mavs?
Spurs?
Wolves?

I don't think Indiana or Detroit could beat any of these teams in a 7 game series.

Re: NBA 2004

I wouldnt call any of those teams elite this year, that's what the hell i'm talking bout. I'll give the nod too the Kings, but those other teams haven't impressed me much this year. The Lakers IF they're all healthy may have a shot at going all the way. I know they can take the Mavs for sure, and i'll throw the Wolves in there as well. The Kings and Spurs are a different animal, but those other teams, lakers included, really dont impress me much.

Playoffs and the regular season are two different seasons IMO, so I really dont care too look at what those teams records are. I've seen them play and i'm not as impressed as I was in past years. The Kings are the only exception, and if Duncan is healthy then i'll throw the Spurs in there. But I dont think those other teams are nearly as good as you make them about to be.

Re: NBA 2004

Also wanted too point out, the Pacers have a better record as of right now then the Spurs, Mavs, Kings, Lakers, and Wolves. I know that they play in an easier conference which does have it's advantages, but 53-19 is pretty damn good IMO.

Re: NBA 2004

Just wait until the playoffs. Like you said, it's two different seasons. When playoffs come all the western teams will step it up a notch or two and once they do that, no team in the east right now can beat them. The Kings are playing some great ball right now and the Spurs look to be taking their game up a notch as well. Don't be so quick to dismiss the Lakers either. Lots of weaponry and expirience to utilize on that team.

Re: NBA 2004

It's great too have ya bro. Basketball is probably my third favorite behind football and hockey, but i'm always up for talking hoops. I really like the Kings this year. Did you happen too see their record against the East? It was something like 41-1, or somethin sick like that. With Webber back in the fold, they're even better then they were without him. And even then they were still a great team. I like the Kings for sure too come out of the west. I think the Mavs can score with anybody, but they couldnt defend a girls high school team. Re: NBA 2004

Yeah, I was picking the Kings to win the Championship halfway through the season. They are really, really tight.

I agree the Mavs need some D but on the other hand, if you're gonna try and trade shots with em all night, you're gonna lose. They have some of THE best perimeter shooters in the league.

I'd love to see my Spurs take another one but they aren't the same team they were last year and it took them a while to get into the swing but it seems as if they finally are. If Duncan is healthy in the playoffs I think they'll do well.
