i couldnt see any malice in it. but man... not only is Rooney about 95% likely to miss the World Cup entirely. But Michael Owen wasnt 100% happy with his foot after 30 minutes at the end of the Newcastle V Birmingham game...

NO. because there was no malice on ferreira`s part.
the right back was simply trying to do his job to stop rooney.
moreover ,
he was the last man in line and he had to stop the striker at all cost ,
even if it meant a sliding tackle that could potentially injure his opponent.

in the 22nd minute, ferreira tried a similar tackle when rooney ran at the heart of Chelsea`s defence. then rooney evaded the challenge with a clever nutmeg.. he should have done that again before he got injured

hopefully he will be fit cos rooney an awesome player

And you wonder why, after being shown up, he then goes in heavy on Rooney??? Lol!!! I don't blame the guy specifically but Rooney is not realistically going to be fit in time. A broken metatarsel is not an injury you can rsh back from. Beckham tried and there was no way he was ready when Sven played him.

Ferreira will be fine - it is not as if he did an Alpay Özalan but he will be remembered as being the guy who ruined Rooneys world cup and probably Englands cup dreams too. I'd boo him next season
