Thoughts on T.O. coming to Dallas?
I am a fan of the Cowboys somewhat. Not like I used to be though. I get tired of these childish athletes making millions, whining all the way to the bank. Anyways, I am intrigued by this move from Phili to Dallas and am wondering how it will turn out. Any thoughts? Any Cowbot fans in here? Anyy T.O. haters?

Definitely a T.O. hater here, Lee. I seriously think this is a God awful move by the Cowboys they will regret in their future. Its sad that they resorted to signing him. They say since Keyshawn Johnson cleaned up somewhat when he went to Dallas, the same can happen for T.O. Absolutely not.
Dallas management / coaching don't take any shit, and won't from T.O. However, that won't change a thing for him.

Huge Cowboys fan here...have not been a fan of how T.O. has acted, but at age 31, this might be his last big money contract so maybe he'll realize that this is his last strike if he causes problems. Great deal for the Cowboys, as the deal is structured more as a 1 year/$10 million dollar deal that has large roster bonuses due next season and in 2008. So if he plays well and doesn't rock the boat, he can make up to $25 million over the 3 years of the contract. If he causes more issues, then the Cowboys cut him after this season and aren't on the hook salary-capwise for the large roster bonuses due him over the next 2 years. Here's to hoping T.O. has matured and another Super Bowl run for the greatest franchise in sports...PERIOD!

I'm a big cowboy fan even to the point of subscribing to DirecTV just so I can get the NFL Sunday Ticket and see the games. I'm not real sure what to make of it at this point. Everyone is saying the "right" things and it's definately the honeymoon period.
I mean, what happens when Mr. No Scramble (aka Drew Bledsoe) throws a game losing pick in a game where TO has three catches for 21 yards and no TD's? That, my friends, is when this will get interesting.
I do think there is more upside to this than downside since it's essentially three one-year deal so if TO starts the, "I love me some me" shit, Tuna, Jerry and whatever else Jones is involved can cut bait. I'm going to have a very difficult time rooting for TO but I don't think he's actually going to "take down" the Cowboys either. It's not like the Eagles that had been a step away from the Super Bowl pre-TO. The Cowboys have missed the playoffs the past two years so if TO goes apeshit, so what? Is Julius Jones going to start to cry? Will the star on the 50 at Texas Stadium melt?
At the end of the day, TO is a difference making reciever with a shitty attitude problem. He won't change his attitude no matter how much he tries to make nice-nice this year but his antics won't derail a damn thing in Dallas. If he gets too far out of line, he'll be cut by Dallas faster than you can say " Eddie Van Halen needs to get his shit together".
Lastly, I think TO will be a selfish, obnoxious dickhead because that is who TO is. Having said that, I believe he'll tone it down enough in 2006.
P.S. Drew Rosenhaus makes me want to throw up.

I did the same thing, my friend..when you live in the Midwest like us, we get to see the Bears on Fox and that's about it! Here's to hoping T.O. stays in line, and if he doesn't, let's hope Larry Allen bench presses him through the hole in Texas Stadium Actually, Larry could bench press over 2 T.O.'s!

Sounds like me. 'Boys fan since I started watching football around 1974/age of 6. I was stoked when we started winning again with Aikman and Emmitt in the early 90's, because the 80's was a shit time to be a 'Boys fan.
I think once Smith had been "allowed to leave" (heavy sarcasm there) and Aikman had to retire, that was what cooled me on NFL more than the exaggerated salaries (Hey, I'm a baseball fan - a Yankee fan to boot - I know all about exorbitant salaries! ). And while Michael Irvin was a great receiver during that stretch, I hated the guy. T.O. is just another Irvin .... even more so. so, I'm not thrilled about this move. I have a friend at work who is a diehard Eagles fan and I had to tell him losing T.O. was the best thing could happen for them (before he signed with Dallas of course). Now I'm going to have one hell of a time explaining myself if T.O. plays great for Dallas - I mean, do I cheer for him and look like a hypocrite, or do I continue hating him? LMAO
In terms of business and rebuilding the team, it's probably a smart move. Can he tone it down and be a team player? Doubtful ... but I think he'll make some effort to do so.
LOL @ wip's "Mr. No Scramble". Like he suggests, it's going to take more than a T.O. to make the Super Bowl again. We need a real stud at RB and a QB that isn't the entire league's "sloppy second".

Pretty interesting comments here. I am hearing mixed thoughts on the radio and from the media. I guess we shall wait and see what is to come of this.

Cowboy fan since the 70's....and I think T.O. is the biggest, whining, over-paid, "I, me,my" sum bitch in football.
That being said...
Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells are like George Steinbrenner and Joe Torre to me. They will sign the biggest players, regardless of their past in order to get the job done. Once they have them, similar to Keyshawn...they get the standard lecture....
in the words of "Homey D. Clown...
HOMEY DON'T PLAY DAT!
I hope....that we see a new T.O. this season as a result....cuz Parcells will choke his ass if not.

another prick, but he supposedly got along with Parcells, so Owens might be great there - is Bledsoe still the QB?

Yep, Bledsoe is still the QB...he's usually easy to spot...either standing in the same spot, or under a 300 pound defensive lineman

he will be a pain in the ass for dallas. a poor offensive line and a quarterback who won't scramble will mean not enough catches for t.o. this will cause him to be disruptive. i think he would have been better off to go to denver where jake the snake would feed him the ball and his ego too. dallas is too early in the re-building stages to add t.o. now.

Been a Cowboys fan since the mid-70s. I don't think T.O. is as bad as some folks think he is. While he has a rocky past - he has also played with some crybabies as well. example: Donovan's claim that T.O. committed a black on black crime when he agreed with an interviewer that Philly would have a better record if Brett Favre was their QB. I also believe that Tuna will keep him in line a little better than most - plus the way the contract is written favors Dallas & has an insurace built in to help restrain T.O. from any big gaffs.
Bledsoe is not that bad either - of course he's no scrambler but either is Peyton, nor was Marino, or Kosar - all very good QBs (wait - they never won a super bowl either - except for Kosar when he was a back-up for Dallas).
I think Dallas made a good move to get Vanderjagt - although I was hoping they'd go after Josh Huston fron Ohio State (he's from my hometown). We'll just hope he breaks the nickname Vanderchoke.
Jones & Barber are fine running backs. I'd like to see a quality fullback/power runner in the line-up.
Look for the Cowboys to draft a quality rookie WR in the first round - likely one of the Florida Gator WRs.
