Show notes:
This was the final night of the Silent Waters Tour (hence, the title). Insomnium and Swallow The Sun were the support acts. Naturally the show was sold out. Tomi Kotamäki from Swallow The Sun guested on vocals for Drowned Maid, which was done as a duet with both Joutsen and Kotamäki handling the growls. Sign From The North Side also included a teaser for Paranoid...
Recording notes:
Recorded dead center on the balcony, which turned out to be a good decision since the floor ended up being so crowded that the audience would've been way too loud there. There's some audience chatter when a couple right next to me started chatting about how to get a good picture with their digicamera. Luckily it doesn't bother that much on the recording.
As for the mastering, slight equalization applied to bring up the guitars and vocals a bit. The end result sounds pretty damn good to my ears. Other than this I brought the volume up and used hard limiting to dampen some louder peaks caused by clapping. Crank it up and enjoy!
