Eric Johnson Austin city limits 1984 unedited
Heres Erics first ACL performance in 1984 unedited in mono. its 3 files, part 1 is the beginning acoustic set and of course part 2 and 3 are the electric set. This is unedited so theres alot of dead time between the songs, tuneing, sound guys changing things etc. EJ fans will enjoy this.

Oh man, I love Manhatten from this tour even the drummer goes overboard sometimes.
Interesting fact: It was this performance on Austin City Limits aired on TV (PBS?) that got Eric Johnson noticed. It was actually none other than Prince who saw Eric playing on this show while watching TV one night that got Prince talking to Warner about signing EJ.

I really liked Erics lead tone during this era, he wasent using the chandler tube driver on this show, he used a tube screamer. His tone seemed more violinish. |

The video and sound quality are rather mushy, but acceptable considering it's coming from a 20-year-old betamax tape.
Not sure how long they'll last since the YT staff usually pulls them down within a day or two... better go watch 'em now!
