Last year I walked out on both Steve Vai, and Yngwie Malmsteen. After half an hour at each show, I realized I was bored shitless, and left.

Last fall, I saw Frank Marino for the first time. I had been wanting to see him since the mid-70s, and I was not disappointed.

He and his band played for 3 hours straight, and my attention was riveted on them the entire time. Never a dull moment, lotsa amazing musicianship, couple with wonderment with the ongoing question "What in the hell are they going to do next?".

I just found out yesterday they are doing a mini tour of the US in September and October.

Woohoo!! They are coming again!!!

I am so THERE!!

check out online jukebox of entire Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush catalogue
http://www.mahoganyrush.com/albums.htm

FACT: Seriously, when FM&MR were touring Texas in the late 70's, Frank showed Stevie Ray Vaughn all his Henrdix tricks. FM blows SRV out of the water in any style of guitar playing. People give the props to SRV for his wicked blues playing, but I know the truth.

for sure, i saw SRV first part of dire straits in mopntreal in '85 and it was not good, maybe stevie was too much on alcohol, i don't know.

later at the miller fest in '88 i think (maybe i'm not sure about the year), i seen frank marino and after it was stevie and i finally quit because i was thinking that he was not so good but when i finally later saw the new orleans '87 video from mtv , he was very hot (i had a copy of that show maybe just in '90 or '91).

anyway, i have some marino bootlegs, i have to put these on cd to upload these later, concerts from '74 and '75 and nobody can't show him the hendrix technique at that tine i think, when he played voodoo child , it was so hot.

at that time he also played song like she's not there and crossroads and it was hot versions.

he's suppose to be on tour of the usa now i think .
