In March 1985, the "20th Anniversary Tribute to The Byrds" tour stopped to allow Gene to fly to England where he had been signed as the opening act for a whole Lindisfame tour. On more than twenty dates, Clark performed with just an acoustic guitar, delighting, fans with moving versions of' his own songs, Byrds classics and unexpected Dylan covers.

The troubles Gene had which seem to be amplified by the recent bio book painted a different picture than what's on these live performances. Rather than troubled or drunk or unsure of himself, he sounds quite confident and sure of himself. Here standing solo on the stage.
