In response to the previous commenter, Midnight Lightning was one of a handful of albums released in the '70s by Hendrix' onetime producer Alan Douglas, with additional instrumental tracks recorded under his auspices (i.e. after Jimi's death) glommed on to the original studio jams. Douglas was later stripped of his rights to Jimi's music and they reverted back to the family (which is a whole 'nother story).
