John Sloman Demos with Moore and Sykes
Here's some demos and an unreleased album I got in a trade last year. Don't know much about them other than the demos have Gary Moore and John Sykes on them (i think the Sykes songs are from his band Badlands)
Enjoy, good quality stuff @192
No tracklist or art - anyone know anything else about them ?

Thanks for redoing the link. I liked the album he made with Uriah Heep, different but good.

it's hard to analyse but i think that maybe the demos are with john sykes but anyway sykes and g.moore plays the same kind of licks sometimes.
about the unrelease album, maybe there's no g.moore and no sykes, not sure, not too much guitar solos anyway.
about john sykes, i'm not sure that he had a band called BADLANDS, it was jake e.lee who had this name, maybe you talk about BLUE MURDER ?
if somebody knows other details about these 2 sloman items, you're welcome !
thanks
ps: the album sloman made with uriah heep (conquest), is not bad, he made a better job with heep than with g.moore live album i think.

In March of 1982, JOHN SLOMAN (vocals, ex-URIAH HEEP) joined with JOHN SYKES (guitar, ex-TYGERS OF PAN TANG), NEIL MURRAY (bass), TIM TREADWELL (guitar), GRAEME PLEETH (keyboards) and JOHN MUNRO (drums) to form a band known as BADLANDS. In addition to recording some demo tracks they played a few gigs, including one at London's Marquee. In May 1982 the band called it quits, and soon after, SLOMAN and MURRAY teamed up with GARY MOORE.
I got this above info from a Lizzy website.I've got a Sykes boot at my parents house that has some Badlands tracks on it.I'm going to check it,because that does have tracklistings.I will listen to what's on this post and compare the two and see what I can come up with.It will probably be this weekend. Thanks for the post.

Thank you very much, I just had a quick question. What was gary moore's neoclassical period? What albums was he into that stuff and could you tell me the years as well. Thanks for your time!

John Sykes quit Tygers Of Pan Tang to audition for Ozzy Osbourne(with Magnum as backing band!) and when he never heard back from Sharon Osbourne he formed Badlands with John Sloman. The band was very shortlived and Sykes still had a contract for a solo single with MCA which was the Chris Tsangarides produced "Please Don't Leave Me" featuring Phil Lynott, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton from Thin Lizzy and John was offered to replace Snowy White in Lizzy, an offer he jumped into straight away. John Sykes recorded 4 tracks with John Sloman's Badlands.
With Sykes leaving, Sloman and Neil Murray joined Gary Moore's band that toured for his "Corridors Of Power" album. An album demoed with Gary Barden on vocals, recorded with Moore's vocals and performed live with Moore and Sloman sharing the lead vocals. After less than a year Sloman left the band, but Moore helped him out with his demos for a solo album. Gary Moore recorded 8 tracks with John Sloman.
