Journey Hollywood Bowl 10-13-2006

Hi Y'all:

The Kurgan rides into town to deliver another Journey present!

As you may have already read, the weather in Hollywood was terrible on Friday. Pouring rain in places, and drizzling during the first part of the Journey show. As a result, I lost about four songs. It seems the weather was crapping out my gear. The first couple of songs, and, very unfortunately, Separate Ways, did not record well and I had to cut them out.

There are some audio problems in a couple of spots, notably in the beginning of Wheel In The Sky, but overall, what is left came out okay. It was a great night, and Jeff even hit the high part in the middle of Wheel In The Sky! Also, Jeff got I'll Be Alright Without You into the set, and it is beautiful!

I wasn't about to let the rain make the recording a complete loss. Here is what came out alright:

Unfortunately, I did not go to the San Bernardino show. Andrew at MR was there and said it was killer.

In Hollywood, Journey was so tight you could visibly see how "unenthused" the crowd was during Leppard's set. Joe couldn't remotely touch Jeff's vocals.

I'm really bummed Separate Ways just didn't record well for some reason- as Jeff really nails that one and was just awesome on it. He's really starting to make these songs his own. I think you will all like I'll Be Alright and Lights.

I'm looking forward to GQ's artwork!

Thanks to The Kurgan for bringing us another fantastic show. From what I've read, conditions sucked for the show (nasty rain) but Journey none the less put on a kick ass show. Thanks to Kurgan for braving the elements to bring us this.

JSS was running all over the place apparently until he slipped and fell, then took off his shoes and ran around some more... surely this man is a legend.

Hence the title of the boot "Running Through The Storm"
