Journey live in Irvine, 2005

Hey folks,
Worked a trade with a guy in England for this one. Thanks Mate!!! This is Journey live in Irvine, CA. 06/26/2005. At the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. I call it "Generation to Generation" because of something steve says. I almost called it "Play something Good" because of the crowd. You will hear them yell it out. It is on three cd's and this is an A++ recording. The person who got this used some sort of digital dvd recorder or something like it and got great sound. This is a significant concert because 1) it is the opening night of the Generations tour 2)rare songs are performed here 3)the concert is before the so-called tape gate. And you can tell that S. Augeri struggles throughtout the concert. Sorry, just the way it is. But a cool concert none the less. One last thing, ON THE FIRST TWO LINKS I PUT THE YEAR AS 2006 BUT IT IS NOT, IT IS 2005. Again the date for this concert is June 26, 2005.

OMG!!!!! This is AWESOME, Terry! Thank you sooo much. I've been looking for a live version of "Somethin' To Hide" for ages...and look at the rest of that setlist - Daydream from Deen! Oh, man. I knew there had to be more 2005 shows out there.

This is probably the best post I've seen on here so far. THANK YOU so much for this. It is kind of sad to hear Augeri struggle so much. I've met the guy and he was really a class act. Too bad, but great show (set-list especially).

Thanks Terry! Wow... what a marathon set. Appreciate this one folks for what it is. A great set playing quite a bit of the 70's tunes (which disappeared for some years...) with our current Journey era lineup. But the cost was that this tour probably did in poor SA.

Found one image of the Verizon Wireless Sign showing Journey and the date they were playing there. Other than that no other images yet. Grrrrr....

I'll see about getting some artwork up here this weekend..

This set really inspired me to spend some real time on creating an original design for the cover for this show. Theme being (30 Years of Journey Music)

It was great hearing all of the 70's music and I spent several hours designing the front cover while listening to this show. I took album covers from the the last 30 years and merged them in photoshop and then warped them into a sphere like you see below. I added the design around the sphere that you see on the Evolution album, because, well it kicks ass! I believe this artwork does justice to this great sounding show.
