Kings X at London Astoria 1990

From my dusty tape collection !
Here's a radio broadcast by Kings X who in 1990 had just released their 2nd album (Gretchen Goes To Nebraska - and no, I don't have a clue what it means). They were "The Next BIG Thing" but it never happened.
The first 2 albums (Out Of The Silent Planet and Gretchen..)were (are) rock masterpieces and I urge you all to search them out.
Intelligent, tuneful, heavy, thoughtful rock. I think we expected too much of them and their 3rd album was barely average - and then came grunge !! They're still going though - try them out.

I was lucky enough to see them twice then. They were great.

Thanks - saw them in Manchester around this time. They were great but had an awkward stage manner and seemed uncomfortable. You're right - I think we did expect too much of them.
