Led Zeppelin - July 20th 1977 Tempe
Date: 20th July 1977, 11th USA Tour
Venue: A.S.U Activities Center, tempe, Arizona, USA
Label: CD-R from unknown gen Tapes # SIRA 131-132-133, 2CD
Sound: Mono -Aud 5
If i didn't know any better, I'd think Pagey was stoned. Everything goes downhill after the acoustic set. After a wandering guitar solo for Trampled Underfoot, Page plays a few bars of Black Mountain Side before launching into Kashmir, catching everyone off guard. Bonzo manages to save the intro by catching up quickly, and the rest of the band follows suit. Bonzo is so eager to get off the stage, he is off his kit before Plant finishes the final verse. No encores tonight! I have no idea why I uploaded this, call it a morbid curiosity, if you will. I shudder to think of what the rest of the concert would bring.
*Incomplete Concert
The Battle Of Evermore
Going To California
Black Country Woman
Bron-Yr-Aur-Stomp
Trampled Underfoot
Black Mountain Side
Kashmir
Guitar Solo (Cut In)
Achilles Last Stand
Stairway To Heaven

Is it ok for reviews? Should i just get in, drop off the goods, and skeedaddle?
Enjoy!

But there are Speed related issues with this tape, leading us to believe the performance was more f'ed up than it was. Trampled Underfoot is a good example. But don't be fooled, this is FOR COMPLETISTS ONLY!!!!!

A friend of mine was at that show....I had tickets for the show, but I got grounded a few days before for smoking weed or something....so the folks didn't let me go (I was thirteen years old at the time).
But my friend went and he said that Page was so fucked up (drunk) that he had to sit on a stool for the entire show....he could not stand up!
Thanks for posting this....

After Page with the others played at the O2 Arena (2007.12.10) he was asked how he felt etc. One line he said comes to mind after reading these posts... "I think this was the first time I played with Led Zeppelin sober." Oh, I love that guy!
Thanks for the download.

Yes, this is for completists only. It was a well known fact that Page and Bonham were both so drunk or drugged out towards the tail end of the '77 tour that the shows suffered so much. Personally, I think that the band was looking forward to L.A. and really didn't care about the "smaller" towns, thus giving half-ass peformances.
