Absoulutely Awesome post, dude!!! One of my favorite bands .
Never got to see them live, and this is my first boot of theirs, but I've worn out a couple of Thunder in the East cassettes in my day. Are there more out there? I hardly ever see Loudness, Dangerous Toys and Malice boots.
for me the best years of loudness are 1983 to 1985.
after that, there was good songs on albums but more commercial for the us market.
one of my favorite after that is the 1st album with mike vescera as vocalist, i can't remember the title of that one...soldier of fortune i think...there was a song call you shook me include in the album, the guitar is fantastic in that album.
yes- soldier of fortune is an amazing album- although i'm quite impartial to anything Mike V does- starting with Obsession, MVP, Rising Force, Killing Machine, etc...
I would love to hear a boot from the SoF album- that would rip!
Akira Takasaki has always been my fav guitarist. I still love his solo album "Tusk Of Jaguar" till now.Apart from this classic lin-up, my 2nd favourite Loudness era is the Masaki Yamada/Akira Takasaki/Naota Shibata/Hirotsugu Honma line-up 1994-1998. I remember I used to have a bootleg of this era, circa 1998..i think..but lost it somehow.
I agree- I enjoy all eras of Loudness- including Akira's solo stuff. Get his next album after Tusk- it has DIO and a bunch of guests on it. I also recommend the band SLY if you haven't heard 'em- it's 2 of the classic Loudness guys (singer/drummer) kicking ass.
