Show notes:
This was the very first time ever when Pain Of Salvation came to Finland, and it occurred simultaneously with the Eurovision Song Contest thingy that also happened here in Helsinki. The name Antivision was used by Korroosio.fi to promote the show. Daniel was in a good mood throughout the show and kept making jokes in between songs.
Recording notes:
Originally I planned to tape this right next to the soundboard, but very soon into the show, I had to abandon the idea due to two guys right behind me apparently being more interested in talking about the show than just listening to it. On top of this they decided it'd also be a good idea to clap as loud as they can, so I decided to relocate myself about halfway into Scarsick. As a direct result of this, the track is pretty much completely ruined, but I still included it for completeness sake.
My new spot was pretty much chosen by availability rather than where the sound would be the best. The venue was completely packed during the Pain Of Salvation set and it was very hard to try and get to a spot where I wouldn't be crushed between people and that way the sound all muffled in the microphones. After few minutes of wandering, I ended up standing on the left side of the stage, almost directly below the PA stack. Needless to say, the sound wasn't as good as it could've been but the audience provided less disturbances and the sound was clear enough there.
In the mastering phase I dampened some of those claps in Scarsick a bit, as well as few mic bumps and such. I also applied some parametric equalization to try and get the sound a bit more natural.
