Pink Floyd Reunion - Live 8 - July 2, 2005

History of another sort was made when Pink Floyd founder/lyricist Roger Waters joined his bandmates onstage for the first time in more than 20 years, playing bass and sporting a huge grin. The group played an elegiac version of "Breathe" as well as the classic-rock radio staple "Money." Expressing joy at jamming with his mates, "it's actually quite emotional, standing up here with these three guys after all these years. Standing to be counted with the rest of you." Waters dedicated the moving acoustic version of "Wish You Were Here" to "everyone who's not here, but particularly for Syd," a reference to original Floyd member Syd Barrett, who hasn't played with the group since 1968 but was the inspiration for the 1975 song. They finished with their classic "Comfortably Numb," from The Wall.

David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright (L-R)

Tell the truth. Did you ever think you'd see these four bums on stage together again?

Pink Floyd At Live 8 - Did You EVER Think that would happen!???? It DID! The original members of Pink Floyd Reunited...Waters AND Gilmour...at Live 8 tonight, and did four BLISTERING songs...Here they are Proof Enough. Pigs Can Fly, And Hell Hath Frozen Over. Pink Floyd...Together..On Stage. You got it here first, from me....and I'm proud to bring it to you!

Get them fast, I've NO GUARANTEE how long it will let me keep using this (though now that I thought it was done June 1, and it's not...I might just renew it...dunno). Anyway...here's what I promised, as promised. ENJOY! I'm torrenting the video of the Floyd Part of the concert, which, yes, I'll share once I get done!

"Money"

""Wish You Were Here" "- (Prepare for Cold Shiver Number 1, as Waters and Gilmour swap lyrics back and forth on this one...)http://www.steveowabo.com/03wywh.mp3

""Comfortably Numb"." (Cold Shiver number 2!)
You cannot tell me, that hearing roger sing that first verse, then that little acoustic strum, then david sing the chorus, the way it SHOULD be done, and hasn't been in 24 years, doesnt "hit" you...if it doesnt'...you're not a true floydian.

It's been a while since I've been to G101. Thought this was a real good way of making a return! Enjoy!

I saw this. This was amazing. Comfortably Numb was just out of this world. That guitar has so much tone... I was dying over it.

Great job with the recording. I love the way Gilmore's voice is breaking up. Their music was great when it was new and I think it has passed to the test time and will go down as some of the very best rock music ever.

The best thing was watching it with my son (he's 17), and he was digging it as much as me. I raised him right, and both of us are huge Floyd fans.

Would it be wrong to post a video of the tunes Pink Floyd did yesterday?

This link worked a few hrs ago...it's like 37 megs in .asf format.
http://www.einterweb.com/kwango/Pink Floyd from Live 8.asf (copy and paste entire link into browser).

Does anyone else think Mr Gilmore is looking a bit like Jack Nicholson??

Yeah...but Mr Waters looking like Richard Gere these days! Thanks for this stuff. I never thought I'd see the day. Saw 'em on the 'Animals' tour and went to heaven...didn't think it could be matched but time has made it all worthwhile.
