COMMENT
With the exception of a very rare performance of 'Condition Of The Heart' played during the piano medley, this is a very basic and straightforward show from the first leg of the Purple Rain tour. In fact, the only slight set list changes on the opening leg of the tour typically appeared during the piano section, and whilst the majority of the other tracks performed are unsurprising (a brief snippet of 'Take Me With U' and a verse of 'Dirty Mind', etc) the inclusion of 'Condition Of The Heart', albeit it is an instrumental version of the first verse only, is a very welcome addition. The only other slight point worth noting is another extremely length version of 'Purple Rain' - this one lasting in excess of 21 minutes. The recording is very weak with a very intrusive audience level. Audience recordings from the Purple Rain tour normally have a very piercing level due to the screaming female audience members - and this one is no different. Add to that the fact the show sounds very distant, and part of the show are practically inaudible due to the audience - and you don't have something which will appeal to the majority of fans out there. The recording also has a number of drop-outs, however these are presumable down the the fact this was recorded in 1984 and the person had to change their tape over as they last barely a minute in length and occur around the 45 minute(ish) mark
