This is the third and last of the soundboard releases Sabotage made from the Japanese tour '89. This is an excellent sounding recording.
It has noteworthy features, like the inclusion of a chant of "We Got The Power" into "Head" during Part 1, which shows that Prince was already well into his next recording, the Batman soundtrack. And Prince's guitar solo during "Sister" sounds particularly ferocious, almost heavy-metal.
Part 2 has its moments, especially during the piano medley when Prince improvises a very brief instrumental excerpt of "With You", something which only happened a handful of times in his entire career. And "Alphabet St." returns to the set as the final encore.
The soundcheck that was held during the afternoon preceding the show sounds more like a self-contained rehearsal, which demonstrates how hard Prince drills his band until the very last minute of the tour: it would indeed end the next night, Feb.13th, after 70+ shows, still he keeps his musicians rehearsing over & over again!

Now that's some funky band leadership.
