Not the best recording to work with but people have started asking for this again so I decided to dust it off for something to do over the weekend! I couldn't completely eliminate the tape hiss on the source recording but have removed most of it but it is still far from perfect. The vocal is a bit low in the mix and if I'd brought it up anymore it would have been more distorted than it is already so this is for the collector's of Prince's early shows out there. "Bambi" fades out on my source recording so I couldn't do nothing about that, I toyed with matrixing it from another release but due to the distortion present on the original it just sounded awful so I stuck with the edit instead. It's still a worthy addition to anyone's collection though as it is such a rare release!

cool...this is an old one..i got this on cassette from some dude way back in 1989.
just looked at my cassette tape..i'll have to see how well you've cleaned it up.
if memory serves me correctly, this wasn't a bad listen.

It was remastered and re-issued by <eye> records earlier this year as "Downtown Danceteria" it was also released by 4DaFunk late last year as "First Avenue '82 v2.0" if you look around you should be able to find it!
