Thanks for these! PF live recordings aren't exactly raining from the sky. Do these tapes originate from trading circles, btw? I think there's at least one "official" recording done for the King Biscuit Flower Hour (and probably one or two other radio shows), but I think that was a 1982 show in New York, not London. The 1982 show here doesn't sound like a pro soundboard (though it's very good). The 1984 show sounds like it could be a transfer from a soundboard originally on cassette?

If you have any live recordings of "All Of This And Nothing", please post it if you can. That's my favorite Furs song.

Talking

Live Furs

Brilliant to hear this stuff.

I have a old crappy BBC recording on cassette of 1984 concert, but have really struggled to find any live furs at all. they were very under-rated. I was amazed how many XTC shows came out of the woodwork a few weeks ago (revived my interest in them no end, after I had dug all my old XTC albums out of the loft) on this forum. Maybe some Furs shows may be revealed now.

I notice from Pips postings he has leanings towards the post punk, maybe he has a few gems from Richard Butler...

To answer Jaysthename.
Both shows were definitely recorded by the BBC for radio 1 in concert. So these were probably taped into cassette. I was at the 1984 show and remember hearing it on the radio a few weeks later. I found both these shows trawling the internet.
The only other show I have is from Derby 1980, but this has poor sound quality. Unfortunately no "All of This And Nothing" which I don't think the Furs played much live. Let me know if you want it.
If anyone has Glastonbury 86 which was also recorded by the BBC give me it now!

The Derby concert (poor quality or not) would increase my PF collection by 33% if you are able to up it!

I don't get your maths.
Yes, it's surprising there isn't more Furs on the web. U2 and The Cure were similar sized bands in the early 80's and there loads of boots around from them from that era. I suspect their fans are more fanatical than fickle Furs fans.
There are a few listed in trading lists, but traders don't really like to put stuff "out there".
Derby on it's way

Maths explained: I had 2 x PF London plus 1 x Cleveland. So thats 3 PF's.
adding one more is 1/3 = 33%.
However since downloading the Derby PF so that represents 25% (ie 1/4).

The Derby is pretty good on balance, just after that 2nd Album a good time to catch them as the notes mention.
It baffles me how it is easier to find The Fixx or the Comsat Angels posted on blogs etc than the band Mike Joyce of the Smiths hoped once to be as big as... (According to Johnny Rogan at any rate).

Thats made my weekend anyway!

Thanks for a great post. I was also at the 1984 show...great night. I recall I went to see the Cramps at Hammy Palais the following night.
