Rat Race Choir -1982 FM broadcast , Poughkeepsie, NYRat Race Choir was a phenomenon on the Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut and Westchester live music scene throughout most of the 70s and 80s, clocking in 300 performances a year and drawing tens of thousands to the burgeoning scene which produced Twisted Sister, Zebra and The Good Rats.
Great hooks, vocals and musicianship on every song. Whatever age you are, if you like good music you'll LOVE this show. If you're a musician, this show is a must-have! In my opinion, they were the greatest unsigned band ever. This was recorded live at the Good Times Café, and broadcast over WPDH 101.5 in Poughkeepsie, NY sometime in ’82. In 1982, the members consisted of Mark Hitt – Guitar, Dave Chmela – Bass and Vocals, Steve Luongo – Drums and Vocals, and Gordon Cohen – Keys and Vocals. Mark Hitt is the world-class guitarist that recorded with Maggie Bell, John Bonham and Robert Plant before Bonham’s untimely death. Also known for his work with Rat Race Choir, Mark is considered by many to be one of today’s greatest guitarists. He has influenced the likes of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Steve Stevens among others. Hitt’s other credits include several soundtracks and a studio stint with The Tubes. Steve Luongo has toured the world as a musician with artists such as John Entwistle (The Who) Leslie West (Mountain) Todd Rundgren, Alan Parsons, Ann Wilson (Heart) David Pack (Ambrosia). He has produced music for Billy Squier, Mark Ford, Leslie West, and John Entwistle.
