Cool

Richard Thompson

Many thanks for this excellent Richard Thompson "Sweet Warrior" show. Saw them in Liverpool, UK on this tour and met the guy himself. What a great guy, he even signed some CD covers for me and a copy of the set list as well.

Elated to read the love for RT (and especially for a show that features a full band, a rarity for R Thompson) > this show focuses on the rock side of his songcraft.

I was surprised when I first posted this show to get O responses, so thanks to those who found this show and replied here.

i've actually seen him a TON of times, solo and band...and i honestly began to skip the solo gigs here probably 10 years ago.
he comes through chicago a LOT.

however i'm nuts for hearing him play electric, anytime.

nice to see this gig is with mike jerome drumming with rt again.
i think it was the old kit bag tour where i saw him play a hugely impressive show.
restraint AND power that guy.

IS this danny thompson on bass here?
i kept getting just bits of intros during my one listen to this, so i'm not sure...and you wrote 'w/o'(='without' usually, but why write it at all then?)...typo?

the doggoned thing got buried somehow too!

i kept following rt links down and your came up (finally!) at the end of 3 of them.

fantastic show that you're very lucky to have seen.

lotsa good shows at the 9:30, eh?

Danny started out on bass on this tour but had to return to England due to a family member's health. (That is why I add w/o, sorry for the confusion.)

I am glad RT still tours a lot but things are much different when he has a band and plays electric guitar.

The 930 is a great place to see a band, bare bones and close!

Thanks. Looking forward to it. I met on the You? Me? Us? tour in Toronto, and he's a really cool guy. I ended up getting in a bit of a friendly disagreement with him over the merits of the Heyday album, which is one of my favourites, and apparently not one of his :-)

nope, this upload is primarily the songs> occasionally there was stage banter or a long intro before a song and that would be labeled as 8a...
