A little history on this one. “Blitzkrieg In Holland” is a rather elusive, rare bootleg of NWOBHM act, Satan playing the Elekerlyk Hall on Friday evening, November 11, 1983. At that time, Satan were out on a five date mini tour of Holland in support of their “Court In The Act” CD.
While I’m not sure of the
exact dates of the tour, the liner notes to Satan’s “Live In The Act” CD (released in 2004) indicate they played Holland on two weekends during their mini tour but no week nights. The “Blitzkrieg In Holland” set is somewhat different than that of the “Live In The Act” CD.
At the time of the Holland tour, guitarist Steve Ramsey was suffering with three broken fingers and his tech, Gary "Ecky" Westgate initially filled in for him on guitar. Westgate was playing guitar when “Blitzkrieg In Holland” was recorded. By the time the next weekend rolled around and the band were set to play again, Ramsey had once again assumed guitar playing duties for the band. Steve Ramsey did recover in time to play on Satan’s “Live In The Act” CD.
Because “Blitzkrieg In Holland” is just over 81 minutes, it won’t fit onto one CD, or at least I couldn’t make it do so! Preservationist that I am, I decided to add two of their demo’s onto Disc 2.
As a point of clarification, I am not the original uploader of these tracks however as a die hard metal fan, I felt I had to preserve them and make them as available as possible, always crediting the original sources. “Blitzkrieg In Holland” came from a Spanish blog, “Axes Of Heavy Metal” and the only problem is that often, his account at DivShare.com reaches its "download maximum" and it can't be accessed until it re-sets itself, sometimes three weeks later, depending upon how much traffic he's seen.
