This was a support set for Amorphis, together with Insomnium. Insomnium started the night, followed by Swallow The Sun. This was the last night of the Silent Waters tour and it was sold out. Mikko Kotamäki from Swallow The Sun guested on one track for both Insomnium and Amorphis.
Recording notes:
Recorded dead center on the balcony, which turned out to be a good decision since the floor ended up being so crowded that the audience would've been way too loud there.
As for the mastering, the recording sounded slightly distant and the guitars were way too low in the mix during the solos so I applied slight equalization to bring them up in the mix. The vocals were also mixed quite low, but sadly those couldn't be mixed more up front in post processing without completely butchering the mix otherwise. I also brought the volume up and used hard limiting to dampen some louder peaks caused by clapping. Other than this it still sounds good so crank it up!
