Wasn't it the head of Decca that said "Guitar bands are on their way out" in response to the Beatles' first audition? Now there's a guy who knew his stuff!!
Thanks for posting this. Whether they are the "authentic" tapes or not, it IS the Beatles and part of history.

I had this on vinyl back in the early 80's, some of it has been released on the Beatles archives releases. Yes, that's Pete Best on drums. Decca was looking to sign one band of a certain genre at the time, and they passed over "The Silver Beatles" in favor of "Brian Poole and the Tremeloes" according to the album cover notes. It sounds much like the early Beatles, but obviously no Ringo and a few tunes you don't see them playing elsewhere such as "Three Cool Cats." That one made it onto The Beatles archives vol 1 if I am not mistaken...
