Traffic
Fillmore West 1970 [no label, 1CD]
Live at Fillmore West, CA, July 1, 1970
By 1968, Traffic (
Steve Winwood with Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason) had already broken up. Winwood then formed Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Ric Grech but this supergroup lasted only one year and Winwood then started work on his solo album, Mad Shadows.
In the process of crafting the album, Winwood started to rope in former Traffic members Capaldi and Wood and the result, John Barleycorn Must Die, became one of Traffic's most successful albums. The album was released in July 1970 and here is Steve Winwood and Traffic at the Fillmore East performing songs from the new album, with the exception of Every Mother's Son.
