I think John Sykes was fired before the 1987 tour.

John Sykes butted heads with David Coverdale, during the sessions and the album was re-recorded by Adrian Vandenburg(also Vivian Campbell) Sykes never made it to tour with them. He was with Whitesnake from after his stint in Thin Lizzy 83 thru the tour of 84 tho. I met John Sykes in Milwaukee once with Blue Murder, and he had a hard time talking about that situation. Contrary to what a lot of people say, Coverdale was a little too ego-maniacal, at the time for anyone to work with him. Sykes took his ideas and went home to create Blue Murder. It seems as if Sykes was right, his incarnations of Whitesnake usually never last, but the public keeps screaming for him. You know what else, take a close look(if your lucky enough to get close)Dave has a new face, new teeth, hair even looks like extentions. Now that's ego for you. Interviews he said he was with family, I think it was surgery recovery. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Coverdale fan but, there's just more than meets the eye. True of most performers...ain't it?

I Think Adrian Only Played On One Song On 1987 Which Was Here I Go Again The Rest I'm Almost Positive Was Sykes.I Was Just Wondering If They Ever Preformed Any Songs From That Album Live. But That Is Sykes On 99% Of 1987.

This is true. Sykes played everything except that solo. I don't think Sykes ever got to play any of the songs from the 1987 album live when he was in Whitesnake. He still plays some of the songs as a solo artiist now though.

John Sykes father wanted to manage a band i was with a few years ago ( Sacrosanct) We went down to his pad, knocked out a few tracks in his studio, drank a shit load of booze around the pool and talked for ages. The topic of his son and David Coverdale cropped up and he told us the reason they had fallen out and John leaving the band was over money. John Sykes was never paid his dues for the 1987 album and was in the process of suing David Coverdale at the time.

I was fortunate enough to meet the wife of Nik Green(keyboard player for Whitesnake,Blue Murder, Jimmy Page& Roy Harper, and others)and some of the recordings from the sessions reveal the different players. To my knowledge, the Sykes versions(UK version of Whitesnake '87) the one originally sold in stores, was replaced by the version now being sold worldwide. The re-recording of '87 Whitesnake was done previous to the European tour in 1988. Close scrutiny, reveals the obvious difference in sound and playing styles. The recordings are different. 2 different recordings, three different players. J Sykes ('87); Viv and Adrian('88-'89)

this boot rocks! I was lucky enough to meet the band in Weedsport NY, in 87. I am good friends with Joe Belladonna from Anthrax...he took me to the show and I met the guys from Whitesnake and the dudes from Def Lep.
