Once you find your BT....Most of the BT's sound dry and computer generated. I have found that with some reverb and compression you can make these BT's sound pretty good!

Interesting observation. Any particular files in mind - particularly if you've any hints for my work!
My personal thoughts are that "most" authors tend not to spend the time programming the dynamics in, merely getting the right notes, not the feel. This is typified by the "machine gun" drum roll. I've generally refrained from publishing such thoughts unless the author specifically requests feedback. This post sounds rather negative - it's not meant to be! The programming, recording and sharing is - in my view - a great service to fellow players. It's the next best thing to playing in a band. Gary |

Nothing in particular. Just an overall observation. I was messing around with some drum wav's today and the combination of some reverb and compression can give most dull sounding backing tracks great life. And also some EQ. Boost the bass and bring down the mids. That's just what I think sounds good...

The main reason i stick to Deep Purple, Rainbow, Satriani, Morse (and other songs i actually know) is because i enjoy it, i give it 110% when i make these tracks i love (i like to think that comes across here and there
).Now effects can be good, but i tend to leave the drums and bass alone myself, i've tried them here and there, and decided against it (unless there is an part that does use an effect in a song), what i thought sounded good when i tried it doesn't always sound as good later on, so i just stick to a classic setup atm.
