OK, I said I would give details and...
This was my second ever recording, the first was just laying down some rhythms that were in my head. I have never performed for anybody before and just learned the pentatonic scale all over the fretboard not too long ago.
I sat for 3 hours or so laying down takes for that solo, I think the solo I used was take 27 or something like that out of 42 takes, yes, 42 takes but I have never written a solo before either. Not one that I actually thought sounded halfway decent. The backing track just kind of hit me and ideas just popped into my head.
I really didn't/havent worked on my tone before since all I have ever done is practice and I am still teaching my ear what sounds good, especially when recorded. I did use my
tube screamer but I am playing through a Behringer GM110 which isn't the most soulful amp. My MIM played great throughout and made it real easy to do something that I may have never thought of doing until recently which is playing with you guys!!
What an awesome experience, the only bad thing is that I have not been practicing like I should so after the other Blues Jam, it is back to the woodshed.
Glad you all enjoyed and keep a watch out for me, I'll be doing many more of these in the future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
