EJ Blues in C
Hi Guys,
Well I think we've waited long enough to hear this, so here's the EJ Blues in C Jam! As usual, a big thanks to all that have participated! I always think a mix of styles and approaches make for a cookin jam, and this has turned out great!
The 2 remaining slots remain unclaimed so here's the jam with the first 5 slots filled; all were kind enough to get their slots done and sent in within the first few days, no point waiting another week for the slots to be taken, then another week waiting for the submissions - so here we go!
0:00-0:38 Elecjoy
0:38-1:04 Axeshredder
1:04-1:31 Macman01
1:31-1:57 Khelbanzon
1:57-2:24 Axe2Grind
I'll post some detailed comments in a bit.
Cheers Si

A few comments:
Axe:
You totally got into the groove of this backer, I loved your phrasing and note choice. You've got an instantly recognizable style dude!
Macman01:
The only guy here I haven't jammed with, so I really chuffed with your sub - fabulous tone and very relaxed vibe - I dug this a lot!
Khel:
Wow man you have chilled in your style since our last jam, gone are the days when you shot straight out of door with shred! Nice to hear you are developing a melodic, intuitive side.
Axe:
Killer bends to begin with, then you let fly with some killer licks. As always totally individual phrasing, I love the way you combine muted notes within a phrase - unmistakably you! Great lick to end with also; I'll be nicking that one thankyou!
Cheers Si.

Well, I've got a day off today so time to reflection on a great jam!. I must say I really enjoyed jamming with you guys. You made this one rock so much.
EJ : Well unbelievable really!!, there's always so much going on with your takes Si, Lovely eastern influenced intro with as usual some amazing runs and really loved the style switch into that killer funk section and back into another supberb run with whammy action, a whole tune in a take!.
Axe : Lots of blues brilliantly fused into that energetic rock style of yours and amazing tone, Quality playing as usual Bro, Follows brilliantly on from the first take, lovely bends towards the end of your take!.
Mac : Great contrast to the first two jams, gave the jam a breather and really dug the melodic lines, bending and the awesome tone. You get better and better each time I hear you Mark mate.
Khelbz : Must say I was expecting the jam to take another high octane gear change, vey nice melodic lines used, really made use of playing off the BT more but still mixed in those great sweeps and fast runs that you're famous for.
Overall guys, thoroughly great jam to listen too!. Si, great job on the mixing and organising the jam.

Cheers for the comments J. I think it's the guitar LOL. The guitar i'm playing always shapes what I play and as it's the N2, I guess the Nuno influence came out in that funky shit... it was a blast actually! I think Nuno always used to say he thought of a solo as a "song within a song". Strange going back to a 22 fret neck, but I'm actually finding it a better guitar to play than the Carvin. I may save up for an N4 next!
Cheers SI.

Awesome jam, just so full of energy and such a vast array of styles and influences. If we tabbed this all out it would make a great Guitar WOrld Feature in different styles for Improv'in.
Anyways, here is my analysis:
EJ : INcredible, how you pack all that into your slot, It is Yngwie with some Vai and a dash of Nuno and maybe Marty Friedman (LOL)and a lot of your own style there also.
Axe : Some fantastic blues and bends , quality stuff there with a great tone also..
Khelbz : Follows on from my slot beautifully, digging the tone in your slot, nice melodic lines and some wicked sweeps.
Justin (Axe2Grind): Awesome stuff mate, very Paul Gilbert I think with some of those fast runs you pulled off on this. Some wicked playing mate.
Very nice jam, great to hear it complete. Si, great job on the mixing and organising the jam.

Thanks for the comments Mark... i'll be posting another jam in a day or two, I reckon a slow laid back blues might be the order of the day (and I utterly suck at Blues so it should be fun).
Yngwie, Vai, Friedman and Nuno LOL, that's a lot of guys to get through in 38 seconds LOL. Yngwie would never shut up for long enough
Cheers Si.

Elec: Dam Awesome shredding man...way better than Yngwie...you rock man...super skilz
Mac: Tasteful, expressive and an awesome tone
Khelbz: A taste of Vai...really sweet melody in there...nice arp
Axe2: awesome chops and expressions
This was a real treat to jam with such skilled players. And the results are truly outstanding to the many jams ive participated in. WTG Elecjoy for the Jam and the quality mix ...i look forward to jamming with you guys again...it would be a cool idea to create a short lick trading section after all the slots, with players like you guys....awesome job every1!
and thanks for the comments on my slot

Thanks for the replies Axe and Khel glad you dug the final mix! This was an awesome jam to be a part of, always an honour to rip with you guys! I'll be posting another jam shortly for those who want to get low down in the street with some laid back blues. All the slots work out at about a minute each so it should be killer!
