Elecjoy Funky Rock Jam Complete
Hi Guys,
Well after a couple of weeks we're all done and the Funky Rock jam is complete. I had a blast getting this together and a big thanks to all that have participated! I think a mix of styles make for a great jam and that is certainly true here.
0:00 - 0:34 Bleeding Pinky
0:34 - 0:59 Elecjoy
0:59 - 1:25 Pranav
1:25 - 1:49 Axe2Grind (on keys)
1:49 - 2:14 Naifuzan
2:14 - 2:39 Stratomatic
2:39 - 3:04 MegaVerb
3:04 - 3:29 khelbanzon
3:29 - 3:54 Derreckk
3:54 - 4:19 Axe2Grind (on guitar)
4:19 - end Elecjoy
Bleeding Pinky:
Love your tone and open position phrasing, something very Billy Gibbons about your style. Excellent opener.
Pranav:
Nice call and answer phrases to begin with and your picking has improved massively.
Axe2Grind (Keyboards):
Well you know I love your keyboard playing, I find it so inspiring. The phrasing and bends are just killer.
Naifuzan:
Your just ooze style, aggresive and soulful. I absolutely loved this - your'e one of my fav players here.
Strat:
Again something very Gibbons about your jam and I enjoy guitar playing with extra grease. Nice use of space, dynamics and phrasing.
Megaverb:
The only guy to give in to wah. The phrase at 2:41 - 2:43 is pure class.
Khel:
I hope you had a fire extinguisher handy - some burning playing there! I listened to this mix on my wife's TV in the kitchen this morning and your tone really stood out as cool! LOL.
Derreckk:
Again nice phrasing and attitude. A great jam to break your duck with - good to have you on board mate
Axe2Grind (Guitar):
I love to hear the stylistic differences with a multi instrumentalist. Your guitar playing is just as angry as your keyboards haha. Love the lick at 4:00, sounds cool as hell when you finish it with that artificial harmonic.
Cool shit gents, and as always, a pleasure to jam with you guys!
Cheers Si.

Yep, I can increase you a touch, and work out the treble.

Well guys, this was one fantastic jam to listen too, a real mixture of ideas and tones which is one of the coolest things about these online jams.
BP - Very funky, loved the tone and phrasing on this, great opener for the jam. You really locked into the groove with your playing.
Elec - Damn awesome as I knew it would be, unbelievable technique, phrasing and tone, loved that harmonised tapping run on your 2nd take, fantastic mate. Thanks for organising and the bang on mix job.
Thanks for your comments as well, really appreciate it...
Pran - Some cool runs in there, nice and some very nice picking runs as well bro. Nice vibrato on some of those notes....
Naif - As always, great playing and attitude with a real no-nonsense tone. Those trills are becoming a signature of yours, very tasteful playing.
Strat - Loved the blues/funk playing, the rhythm part really fitted well, I love that kinda playing, and like the nice dry tone as well.
Mega - Great to hear a wah take, very tastful playing and a nice contrast in this jam. lovely tone as always bro.
Khel - I think you melted my ears off !!, fantastic shred techniques yet still melodic which is an art in itself. I'm always in awe of players that can sweep arps well, you certainly can.
Derreckk - Nice 1st Jam mate, we have something in common, Elecjoy arranged my first as well !, nice playing in there, quite a raw rock sounding tone too.
Fantastic job guys, some great playing on this and was great fun to be a part of. Wicked..............

Dude, it was great to have you on board! I salute anyone who gets in on a jam for the first time as you have no idea what will be played before and after your slot... it's scary, but that's the fun. Because of new blood, most jams turn out remarkably varied and surprising! It's great.
You did a good job for your first jam, and it will only get better. People here are full of encouragement and it's a cool place to grow as a player and musician.
Oh yeah, I love to be complimented on my fingerwork! Specially when it's the missus!
Cheers Si.

Getting there mate....I'm liking the Junior alot, I've just discovered the joys of adding overdrive to my tone, tapping, legato is way more easier LOL, I'm such a noob when it comes to guitar stuff.

You don't sound like a noob. Some of those runs are ferocious!
I kinda fancy myself a White LP Custom one day. I really love the look, but I'd have to try one! And then maybe sell the car to afford it.

White LP Custom, Hmmm very nice. If you do decide on one, make sure you try it out first, they are (IMO) a little different to strats and more modern axes but they are great once you're used to them, I want another one already....

Thanks for your work on this elecjoy.
It's really awesome to hear everyones approach to playing on this funky backing track. Each of the recordings really mesh together well and the whole jam turned out great.
This was also my first time contributing to a jam this way. Not knowing what was involved in creating the recording, I was worried that I was going to have to back out. The extra help was outstanding and much appreciated. Again thank you elecjoy. I'm looking forward to trying this again sometime.
Good times!
