Between Here and There

Something I wrote, in my early 20's as I was trying to gain a better understanding of what life was all about. Not sure, I've come any closer to figuring it out, aside from focusing in more on the best things in my life... Family, Friends, and music. There's a line in there that reminded me of Goport and his tag line (my head hurts) "I think too much it hurts", hence I went looking for it to see if I still had it. Thanks Goport, it was nice to dig this up and read it again...

Between Here and There

At another day’s end,
I lay wide eyed in bed
wishing for some rest…

Assessing what’s been done
Where I’ve fallen short
Find the things I can’t control

And a bump has turned to aching
The night I save for waiting
Talking in my sleep

What do I really want
Will probably change tomorrow
What I lost I still miss

The difference between sometime when
And now,
I think too much it hurts

What’s next in this growing up
Beside falling down, rising up
Don’t answer

Don’t ruin the surprise,
Without that, I can’t reflect
Or wonder what if
