Big Dreams
I just posted this in originals http://www.guitars101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28617
A story of a boy growing up and becoming a jaded man that doesn't learn by his mistakes. As a result he tarnishes all around him until there nothing left for him to corrupt. and by removing himself from the equation, his family find life again. The narrative is a sort of cross between a book and a film.
Nothing too deep just a bit of fun, hope you like it.
Big Dreams
=========
"Clear the set!!! Chapter 1 And ACTION!"
Picture the scene, a boy on the green, thinking big things and dreaming big dreams
Planning the life, that he wants to lead, of music and passion and ladies of fashion
And all the time he waits.
Then race through his youth run through his teens, bring the past closer to date so it seems
He’s kicking and screaming and hating the change, fighting and biting anyone in range
Into the great unknown he wades
He always hated school but he played by the rules.
Now they set him free what the hell is he s’posed to be
And as he walks the camera fades
"Chapter 2"
Now he’s 18, and dressed like James Dean, draped on the bars and digging the scene
Screwing around, living on speed, getting in fights and sowing his seed
The only path that he can see
A nod of the head, a wink of the eye, reeling in girls and making them cry
Promise the world, and give them small change, there’s plenty more cattle right here on the range
He’s so young, free and single baby
A sordid tale he knows but one he happily shows
It’s gone straight to his head the notches there on his bed
The bed-sit king of misery
Who’s sorry now?
Who’s sorry now?
You’re so so sorry with a gun at your head
Standing at the altar a pregnant bride to be wed
She’s was only 15 – how the hell were you to know
And her daddy’s gonna kill you if you try to leave her now
"Chapter 3"
At 40 years old, you live for the pub, coming in late, sleep in the tub
Your son has left home, flown from the nest, doing the things that you used to do best
He’s so young free and single baby
His life is a mirror of yours from the start; he’s dressed like James Dean and breaking girls’ hearts
Your wife is eats for England whilst watching TV, hardly the life that you thought it would be
There’s only one way he can see
Somehow it seems so unfair you’re suddenly aware
Of all the chances you blew, but what the hell could you do.
You’re the king of lost opportunity
Who’s sorry now?
Who’s sorry now?
Now you’re left with only a memory
Of your wife, life, strife, the end of the family
Living in a bed-sit, staring at the bedpost
Blaming everyone you know though it’s you that earned it most.
Solo
"Chapter 4"
Horses for courses and gone to the dogs, spoon feed the bookies your hard earned crust
Money for nothing and counting the cost, read em and weep for the winnings you lost,
The king of foolish tipsters folly
What’s the point living just to endure, but you show no remorse for what went before.
No blame on you just a head full of hate, to cherish the sorrow and ponder your fate
The odds on favourite of empathy
Standing there on the bridge, he finally nails home the lid
And hits the water below and it’s the end of the show
In two years time they find the body
Who’s sorry now?
Who’s sorry now?
Not your son he’s got children of his own
He loves his wife, life and beautiful home.
Not your widow who is happily wed again
And she lost all the weight and she teaches at the gym
You’re sorry now
You’re sorry now
The final scene is a family reunion
Laughing in the garden and playing with the children
The camera pans back to show an urn in the hallway
The credits and the music roll … the image fades away
Annnnnd cut!
