This is something I wrote for a friend of mine last year.

Expectations

It's been sometime since we spoke

I've lost all hope for a better life

So I lie isolated in this cold, dark room

where dreams filled the spaces

of better off places

but I dare not visit them now

And as I walked past the mirror

I realized I hate the reflection staring back at me

I wish I could be the one you want

the one you obvisouly need

I am sorry the damage I've done to you

And the promises I could never keep

Never told you I was going to be the one

to live up to your expectations

now the damage is done

Maybe one day we'll make it right

meet again without a fight

take the time to understand

what we felt

how we dealt

and what we mean to eachother
