Another old song that I re-worked partially. The song is basically an inspiration from "I'll Fall In Love Again," "Halfway To Memphis," "Not Enough," and the backing vocals to "Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)." Most likely a Sammy-esque song.
It Takes Time
She never listened to what I had to say
Never wanted to give me the time of day
But for some reason I was blinded by another
Then I came only to discover
(The song kicks into the chorus as the upper part was vocals only)
But it takes time
To fall in love again
(It takes time)
To be yourself again
(It takes time)
To live again
It takes time, but I’m going be, as fine as I can be
She said she wouldn’t leave me
She said didn’t need me
Didn’t wanna see me, oh but what am I supposed to do?
I just can’t be myself; just doesn’t matter with or without you
Time to back my bags and move on
But hey, it’s okay because me, I know
It takes time
To fall in love again
(It takes time)
To be yourself again
(It takes time)
To live again
It takes time, but I’m going be, as fine as I can be
Because I am, the survivor of me
GUITAR SOLO
Just a watching the clock, seeing my time tick away
Sit through the past, and drift through the day
But it’s alright, that’s how it’s gotta be
For me, I can see that
It takes time
To fall in love again
(It takes time)
To be yourself again
(It takes time)
To live again
It takes time, but I’m going be, as fine as I can be
Because I am, the survivor of me
Time’s just gotta let me be
Let me be, let me be
But it takes time
To fall in love again
(It takes time)
To be yourself again
(It takes time)
To live again
It takes time to love
It takes time to love
It takes time, to fall in love again
It takes time, to be yourself again
It takes time, to love again
