Really great lyric writing tips to beginners

I was a bit weird at my first attempts at writing lyrics. I've found that the most effective ways to write them are through having online conversations with friends...take a good chance to rant about whatever you want as much as possible. Then you can set it out into lines and paragraphs. Chori however are completely something different that just needs to be catchy. My key to finding good words for songs is writing down cool phrases I come across. I've made some kickass song lyrics over time doing that. I'd share them but I don't want people using them as ideas.
