Alright this is the last one for a while, I don't want to flood the forum so here it is. It is kinda long but....


Gunfighters Moon

as you hear the howling wind
and it plays as a musical tune
and as you gaze heaven bound
you rest your eyes on the gunfighters moon

it will cast the brightest of light
as the darkness falls from the sky
and in this moment of glory
you will learn that not all gunfighters die

they live their life with chances
and take it day by day
and when they have a problem
they settle it the old fashion way

they meet out on the streets
as they stand fifty feet apart
they both draw guns a blazing
but only one bullet finds the heart

the winner is the man standing
the loser lays dead at his feet
and the winner must go on living
thinking of the next time two gunfighters meet

so as he rides into the night
and the sorrows fill his soul
he now knows his own destiny
and the emptiness he feels, that is his toll

so as you sit in darkness
and you hear the faintest of cries
that is the lonely gunfighter
realizing that he has been living a life of lies

and in the blackest of night
under the next gunfighter moon
this may be his last final day
each draw of the gun could be his final doom

so watch around this dusty town
he is the tattered man standing at the bar
just remember in the gunfighters moon
you can never see the gunfighters hidden scars

he is the dusty cowboy
his life in saddlebags that he packed
his only true escape is a gun shot
that splits the night and pierces his back
