Wish You Well
A sad tale. I seem to remember loosely basing this on a newspaper article about some local hooligan getting killed in front of his father and was spurred on by the saying "parents should not outlive their children." I then decided to give it a sort of old feel lyric and tried to give it the same vibe as a Johnny Cash song or even Knocking on Heavens Door by Dylan. Not that I could hold a candle to those guys. What it turned into was a sort of last rites between a father and son - but with some hope of salvation/reconcilliation
The song is here http://www.guitars101.com/forums/attachm...chmentid=10555
Wish you Well
--------------
(son) Save me from myself, Save me from my health
Save me from doing wrong, Save me before too long
(father) I’ll protect you from harm, Cover you with my arms
I’ll squeeze away the fear, Let me comfort you my dear
(son) Now the light is fading fast, And the pain will surely pass
Look me in the eye, And hold me while I lie
(son) My life was full of sin, I ruined everything
No salvation left for me, Lord can’t you hear my plea?
(father) Your mother died as you were born, But you were beautiful and warm
Now you are battle scarred and cold, Son don’t leave me scared and old
(Son) Father we’re watching from above, My mother sends her love
And untill we meet again, We wish you well till then.
We wish you well until then
We wish you well till then

Hi Goport - read the words and really thought they were great with a meaningful theme. The music was great too, especially liked the vocals. Glad I stopped to check it out...
