Heh, I've always dug your style, so uh, what do you say!
This is a little piece I call "Battle Hymn of the Nazgul", I've got this whole story about what it's about, but I'll let the listener draw their own conclusion.
Good hunting!
LOL . don't i even get a warning PM or something ? lmao . i just saw this and was like ":icon_eek:  " ... ummm ... i guess i will post something . got nothing new though ... i'll stick my "Mighty Ying" up and pray for a miracle i guess haha ... btw .. really cool tune bro how about sharing that story lol
Dannyboy-Wowza! Hahah, I didn't remember you being quite so techy, I probably should have dressed up in something shreddy for this party. Anyways, wow! Cool vibe man, its reminds me of that scene from "The Doors" where they're all out in the desert composing "The End", except Yngwie is there lending his input.
Oh yeah, if anyone is wondering why this piece sounds familiar, I kinda came up with the idea while I was trying to figure out an old Frank Zappa instrumental piece called "Echidna's (arf of you)".
It sort of reminded me of that demo tune that Vai did for Morley. I can't remember the name of it off hand. But you really ripped it up here sonny boy! Nice job.
The ulnarian: I really liked your piece man, very original and fresh. The part that you laced with the flanger effect sounded killer.I also enjoyed the simple leads you added.Great job.
Dannyboy:I like the eastern sound on your leads and backing. Some nice phrasing at times. Some of the shred seemed a bit too long for the mood of the tune, but overall killer work.
Tough vote here, both rocked in very different ways. But I have to go with ulranian here. You are both great players, it was great listening.
Kefka-Glad you liked it man, actually, that part with the fllanger is my favorite part. I got the idea from an old guitar "mentor-of-sorts" who goes by the name of ROBOT. Basically, you kill alll of the EQ in the mix leaving only the hi-end of the spectrum and you end up with this cool, highly processed sound. I then flanged that for extra proccess'ishness.
theres always something in your tunes that impresses me big time ulnie . your ideas are so varied that i sometimes wonder if you have some sort of bottomless pit full of influences that you pull from everytime you sit down to record or write lol . couple that with the fact that your playing continues to progress at a pretty quick rate and you got something that in a few years time could be pretty damn remarkable . keep on rocking dude i love hearing what you put together . just cause i dont always comment . don't mean i don't listen . you continue t impress me big time dude .
Great stuff from both and interesting mix of styles.
Uln; I agree with what a lot of people say...your songs take you on a journey which is quite unique.
Dannyboy, loved this piece because it shows your love of those Yngwie styles is starting to pay off, the vibrato is getting sweeter and the thing didn't go offa the rails anywhere-you were focused and it showed.
For sheer originality, I had to go with Ulnarian but they were both superb.

well its called mighty ying for a reason lol . but you were kind so thanks dudes . i was kinda put on the spot with this . wasn't a challenge really .. was more of a heres my post now you post yours and we will battle .. the poll was already up so i didn't have a say in the matter really . to my credit i accepted and posted within minutes of seeing it lol . but its all in good fun so win or lose really doesn't matter to me . iv'e already way surpassed my expectations to be honest haha . so thanks to you dudes who votes and especially those who voted for me
Tough choice here! they both rock. I love em both,, but Ulnarian's caught my ear a bit more. Still though,, I hate to choose cause both were kick ass in my honest opinion! These 2 tracks rock! Wtg you 2!  :thumb:
its cool to see nobody is being biased . and the voting is totally fair . guitarbattle.com was terrible for "friends helping friends" voting . this is gonna be really cool now i see everyone is just being honest about the music and not taking into account who the music is by .
oh and hey chris mate . im coming out of that Yngwie phase now which is somewhat ironic lol . settling back into vai .. but iv'e learnt alot of cool things from my Yngwie phase which i will take with me into the next step of my journey . thanks for voting n commenting mate and you too scott i wouldn't forget you mate lol
both tunes kill!!!! D-boy heard this post b-4, not bad for one who once called Yngwie M-Malmcock:lol: . Ulnie-very gr8 stuff comp wise and tone. I really think this is an "apples an oranges thing". But giving the edge to D-boy for tech, but both posts..well ...are pretty much equals in their own way. tuff choice, and ulnie, I know you can shred and tear it up.
Thx for the war...err battle, sorry to sneak it upon you like that, its just that I don't think I ever got the chance to battle you over at the old Gbattle and i really wanted to for some inexplicable reason.
Anyways, thx for yer' ears all. Cya in later days.
You know if ya take both the tunes and fade them together , that makes an excellent song! So in other words they are both GREAT! I'd have to flip a coin to vote.
HAHA do they really ? hey ulnie was a pleasure mate . im glad you did sneak it up on me . was cool to be one of the first to join in the fun n games of battling-ness  .
