Ron's Rush RoIO Review
This show matches fairly closely the ATWAS album, with a few neat extras thrown in. This tape is worth owning, if only for the live versions of "The Twilight Zone" and "Return Of The Prince." Both sound absolutely great. At this point, the band still hadn?t transitioned to using keyboards to back some of the older songs, but the playing is noticeably fuller than on ATWAS. The sound quality is OK on this one -- you can more or less hear all the instruments. There is a bit of distortion on my copy of this tape, but nothing overly distracting. This tape really illustrates how the live show evolved during the course of the 1976/1977 tours. At this point, additional instruments were being added onstage, in this case, the Evantide Harmonizer on the soundboard (listen to the vocal effects on "In The End"). You can really begin to hear aspects of the future AFTK and Hemispheres shows. A larger portion of "The Necromancer" was resurrected as the tour progressed. "Farrah Fawcett-Majors" on the drums tonight! (1999-04-01)

A fine performance from the "AtWaS" tour recorded live at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington DC on April 17, 1977. The set for this show follows the setlist of the official live album but does offer some interesting and rare performances of "Twilight Zone" and the "Necromancer". This recording is worth having for those songs alone. The source is an aged audience tape. The instruments are discernable, though the show is a bit muddy in the lower end. I spent nearly 36 hours remastering this show and have actually well improved the sound quality to make it a more enjoyable show to listen to. A worthy addition to any Rush collection. As with all Digital Reproductions recordings, it's only available via free trade and never for sale. Just visit the trading links section to find people that will gladly trade this recording for free. (1999-04-01)

This is a good complete show from the post- All The Worlds A Stage period. Seems like the generations have taken their toll as the show seems a bit distant, and there's some hiss, but all of the instruments are there. You can even catch Neil's ride cymbal bell at times so I'm sure there are versions with less generations that would put this into the "great" category. The rare track Twilight Zone makes this a must have. (and leaves Lessons and Tears as the 2 "un-played" tunes from 2112) Along with Twilight Zone the other reason for the "must have" is the "Necromancer" version of By-Tor,! (I'm sure that's all we'll get from the elusive "Caress of Steel" masterpiece!) and Best I Can makes an appearance during the encore! The special guest on drums tonight is Farrah Fawcett - Majors for the drum solo! (and she nails it!) If you can get past the hiss and distant quality of it, this is a good recording to have since it has a lot of rare performances on it! (1999-04-01)
