Taken from various sources, here's a collection of Stranglers demos, outtakes and rarities. All tracks in excellent / very good quality (some crackles at the beginning of Girl From A Snow Country, some tape hiss on Thrown Away). Why all these songs are not currently available on Stranglers / JJ...

Another great Stranglers show, recorded by the BBC during their 1980 american tour. Fine SDB recording, though not as great as Toronto 80 (see one of my previous thread on this forum). Taken from a BBC transcription disc. Enjoooooy !

OK guys, by request, here's a Stranglers gig from 1980, recorded for some radio broadcast, in AWESOME SOUND QUALITY ! :eek3: You will hardly find anything better around, believe me. The only bad point is that Down In The Sewer is incomplete (the middle section is missing), as it was probably cut...
Riot gig recorded by a japanese TV in 1979, with JJ and Hugh speaking and singing in japanese sometimes! The concert is interrupted several times, seems there were some troubles and fights... :cussing: Strange detail : the audience keeps claping hands all along the whole show ! Very good sound...
This gig was recorded in 1987 during the Stranglers US tour. As their drummer Jet Black was suffering from health troubles :irk:, they had to borrow a new one : Robert Williams. The guy had previously worked with Captain Beefheart and Hugh Cornwell on his album Nosferatu. Great drummer, who...
This concert was recorded during the Bourges Festival, in France, 6 April 1989. It was the second and last gig JJ did to promote his new solo album Un Jour Parfait. I'm quite sure the show was professionnaly recorded, but unfortunatly the mixing desk tape hasn't surfaced so far, so we only have...
Superb soundboard recording of this complete show, taken from the Feline tour, including a weird "cocktail version" of Bring On The Nubiles. The end of the concert is kind of chaotic, as the Stranglers get nasty and make some funny snide comments about the audience...

This one is quite a special show, as the Stranglers got part of their equipment stolen shortly before the concert, so they had to borrow another one, which gave them a different sound. It was also the very first time they played songs from their new album Dreamtime, including Always The Sun...
One of my favorite Stranglers concerts ever. Very dark and electronic.
Taken from the Meninblack tour, in excellent soundboard quality.
This is a concert I've transfered from tape to CD long time ago, so there might be some even better version hanging around now...
01. Threatened (3:27)
Rare concert, in really good sound quality for the year (though not as great as the Roundhouse 77).
Good performance, featuring some dirty words between JJ and the audience, in a typical 1977 punky style.

02. Sometimes (5:48)
03. Bitching (4:57)
