pickup buzzing

hi folks, i recently bought a trace sensor pickup for my guitar and couragously installed it myself,mistake maybe. it sounds ok, but theres an annoying buzz that stops when i touch the jack. i imagine it has something to do with grounding, but i obviously dont know heaps about pickup...
