LINEAGE:
SBD>WRIF-FM Detroit off-air masters>Toshiba stereo cassette deck, unknown receiver>C120 cassettes>glasnostrd19 (digitizing, compiling, patching, top quality digital alchemy>flac. Thanks, Ian, for all of the hard work.

QUALITY: Very good to excellent STEREO (a few segments in mono due to technical issues back in the dark ages. These were recorded long before digital, and electrical tape and alligator clips were state of the art...).
-A few early uploads (up to Steely Dan from In Concert #3) were torrented on Zomb and Dime 15 years ago, and these segments should be considered upgrades to those torrents. I was banned from Dime for stupidly sharing the 8 minutes of Steely Dan so rather than beg and scrape for reinstatement after a Dime Mod meltdown, I put 'em back in the basement. The rest are new to circulation, from my masters, and have never been shared digitally before. Included separately in this upload is a file of segments from Dime's NAB (not allowed bands) list.
-Assorted segments have also been shared by others (gv0000, bpthree and others, not included in this set) and 1970s bootlegs were released with some of these broadcasts as well, frequently in superior quality to these tapes. These uploads should be considered alternate captures to anything currently out there.

ART: No art with these, so feel free to create some.

REMASTERING: I encourage anybody to remaster these recordings if they wish to - the goal is to provide the best listening experience for all, so go for it.

DOs/DON'Ts: If you've snatched this, it's yours to do what you want with it for your own personal use. Burn it, trade it, convert it, torrent it, glue it to your forehead so you can receive direct broadcasts - I don't care. But please DO NOT share it as mp3 - there's too much mucked-with garbage out there as it is. If you share any of it, please leave each band's segment uncut and intact including the text files and only share this material as you received it, unless you have a remaster you would like to distribute. Please give credit - taking text and music and sharing it as your own is unacceptable. If you press it as a bootleg, please send me one.

COMMERCIAL MATERIAL: None of these particular recordings have been commercially released; at the worst these are alternate captures of any releases that may have been marketed. Knowingly upping currently available commercially released works is THEFT, and should be discouraged at all times. The artists have devoted their lives to their music, and should be rewarded with the purchase of their works.

ENJOY!

A Merday Music archive release.

- The In Concert series ran every other Friday night on some ABC-TV major market affiliates in the States, with an FM audio simulcast on ABC radio stations. Each show ran from 11:30PM-1:00AM, with 75 minutes of music. Bands included the obscure, the awful, and the amazing. I taped all of these shows (all 53 of them, from 1972-75) however I only taped bands that appealed to me, so this will not be the complete run of artists featured in the series.
-Although all were FM, the technology was primitive, both on my side and on the network side. There were level irregularites, FM noise and compression, abusive commercial interruptions, cut intros and truncated songs, even a conehead moron WRIF employee goofing around with the playback speed on the Grand Funk broadcast.
-All of these segments, from one song to complete full shows, are as broadcast, and they are being shared with you with no alterations or changes from my original tapes (other than some sporadic trimming of the radio announcers' patter).
-So far, this series for the most part remains unreleased, both on video and audio. Also, some bands who played one or two songs on these broadcasts most certainly played at least a set, so somewhere, hopefully, all of this stuff is safely warehoused. Maybe someday it will see the light of day instead of hiding on dodgy tapes and videos in dark, dingy basements like mine. Let's be patient - it's only been 50 years so far...
-All of these tapes are my off-air MASTERS, and they are being shared in sequential files of groups of shows (it's almost 10Gb in total)! Choose whatever you'd like.
-various other segments have been shared by a few others, including some material I didn't record at the time and should have (Curtis Mayfield, to name one).

For information and artists who appeared on this series, these sites "ABC "In Concert" Archive" and "ABC In Concert - Vintage Rock TV Archive" try to compile venues, dates and musicians, however information on this series is difficult to find and some details may be inaccurate (and a few segments may have been rebroadcast). Also, concerts were not aired sequentially, with segments from the same concert venues appearing in various programs.

Well done there are many who could learn from you. When I was scrolling down I kept waiting to see that you were a "trader" (For the uninformed that means a non sharing user) But your list was for Sharing. Once again well done.
