this one is in 3/4 timing with a double lead. Please don't be like my Mom and try to tell me it's 4/4 or 2/2 ... Whew!
It's called The Field
about one lot that never got developed because the developer had memmories of playing there in his youth. And left it undisturbed. (might not be fiction)

Very cool tune and playing dude!
LIked the concept of the song as well....I'm sure that many of us have a place like that in our memories somewhere...though unfortunately most of those places are probably strip malls or apartment buildings these days.
All the more need for tunes like this, that bring ya back!

Very nice work! :icon_thum

Good song, I like it quite a bit.

About the timing:

The beginning sets the 4/4 time feel, the strumming is 4/4 with an emphasis on 1 and 3. The drums have a triplet kind of feel, which almost makes a waltz happen. However, the rest of the instruments do not feel like they are in 3/4...to many cycles of 2 and 4 (1/8 notes for each beat; a beat being what 3/4 would make a measure). Listen to the lead and the vocals especially...

IMHO you have a 4/4 beat with a triplet beat in the high hat. Each beat being 3 hits of the high hat and alternating between snare and bass from what it sounds like.

Again, very good song. I think your Mom is right though. If it was 3/4 then removing the drums would keep it feeling that way...I don't think it would. The true test is to write it down.
