i got a really good plugin for audacity. Its in vst format. it works good. but when i goto apply the effect to a track it ses the program has performed an illegal operation lah lah lah. and it ses something about a prob in the file that the effect comes from but i cant figure out why. its in the right file for plugins and so it shouldn't have any troubles. someone out there know why or how to fix it help me out. its called guitar suite it has a range of cool effects for it.

I would try downloading the file again , maybe from a different source , it could be corrupt , its not uncommon . Im assuming you have placed the file in the vst plugins folder "keep all the sprockets together " seems to make things works more smoothly .
