That is going to be a tough one for anyone to answer.....most people have not tried all those amps and "Best Tone" for what? Blues, metal etc.

I would say a really high gain amp with face melting power is a 5150 II which is not on your list.

The best all around amp to cover any style, IMHO, is the Line 6 Vetta II. This is based on versatility, price, features, upgradeablity, functionality, and support.

Best tone is subjective, though. Only you can answer that. You should play the amps you are interested in and go for the one that sounds best to YOU. The one that does is the best amp.

yeah, the 5150 can be a bit noisy if you edge that gain knob up past 7. But as long as you use a gate, it is kickass. But I can live with the noise while I'm playing, Its when you're not playing that things get hairy. :icon_thum But for metal there is no better amp...

As a Vetta II owner.....I have to agree 100%.:icon_thum

As a prior 5150II owner....yes they are noisy (as any high gain all tube amp is)...a noise gate is a must if you use it live at high volumes.

The 5150 on the Vetta does not sound exactly like the real one....but it's very close. Most of the Marshall models sound exactly like the real ones....according to people on Vetta forums that compare them.

I used a noise-gate in my 5150 and it got noisier!!! I musta been doing something wrong!

Vetta II abso-fookin-lutely. Moreso because it is SO adaptable to different situations and has the lot. If I had/have the money I'd/I'll buy one tomorrow.
