Bob Dylan 10/27/96
Austin Music Hall, Austin, TX

Taped by a Texan buddy of mine with Sonic studio mics
and Dat recorder>snail mailed to me back in 1996>
File cloned into Microtrack using a Tascam dat deck>
TLH8

this particular taper incurred the wrath of the dh
Dylanolgists for refusing to send them copies ASAP
he laughed at their demands as he didnt know them
from a hole in the ground.

Thanks again
Incidentally, totally get the point about the tapers. Bob changed his whole ticketing policy to get these people out of the front rows of all his gigs. Just totally sick of looking at the same old faces all the time!
Wouldn't be so bad but some of these fans used to regularly sell their recordings as CDRs by post, so they could buy all the best tickets for the next round of shows!
Thankfully we now have a more democratic fan based model of sharing (DIME excluded), and these people hate it! It has taken almost 20 years for them to realise they have been overtaken by events!

standing in the front row would be a very bad place to record, think about all the shooting, moving etc. . Now you have to pay topdollars to be on the front of the stage.

The tapers i know share their recordings. "Trading" died after the internet. spinning tapes, reading long long lists is gone.

"My tapers", share the recordings on dime and after a while they share the remastered versions too. what strange kind of tapers you have met?
