Hi there,

As you all know, I a clueless when it comes to live situations with a guitar, amp, etc...

I keep getting brainwashed by the PODxt, and now cannot contemplate that there could possibly be any other way to play a guitar...

Anyway, this is my friend's question. Rather than me guess at it, I was wondering if you experts could help me out ?

Cheers....

My mate asked me :
When connecting an electric guitar (bass or normal) to a stage amp (in particular, a Vox Venue PA200), would I normally need something between the guitar and the amp (a 'DI' box?)

When connecting an acoustic/electric guitar to the same amp, should I treat it as a mic input or is it higher-powered than that? Are there any gotchas I should be aware of with acoustic/electrics?

Thanks in advance dudes and dudesses !!!

From my experience Mond your gonna need some kind of preamp, (processor or even a simple powered eq pedal) to boost the signal of an electric guitar.
The AC/Elect. should have a preamp of its own so it should be fine direct to the PA.
